Arms of Independence
A touchscreen experience that gives visitors an unprecedented and close-up look at a collection of over fifty weapons and artifacts that were used during the American Revolution.
We custom-designed a robotic camera system that moves a camera (equipped with a macro lens) and the artifacts simultaneously to create digital “fly thoughs” that reveal small details that have big historical significance, like the maker’s mark of a 300 year old saber, or the hair from a horse which is still stuck inside the pommel of a saber. We also worked very closely with the museum’s curatorial team to create hot spots that pop up and expose the stories and technical specifications behind these important pieces of American history.
